Paris: hotel pics and the Parc Montsouris

More pictures. I told you you'd miss the days of actual text and real things to say. Today's photos are from the first day in Paris, and feature our hotel and the Parc Montsouris, where we had lunch on that first day. Parc Montsouris has lots of ducks, which don't seem at all scared of people. Bastards.

More (proper!) Paris photos follow tomorrow, but I figured I might as well break them up and avoid overwhelming you. Not that most of you are interested in my holiday photos, I'm sure, but it's my blog, so tough. ;-) (More Day 1 photos can be found here, in case you're really a glutton for punishment.)

Week 2, Day 2 - and some good news

Week 2, Day 2 went well - better than Day 1, anyway. The hills have got smaller... I took some photos this morning at the end of my run, so you can see where I end up, in case you're interested. The statues are prettier than the pics show...

Oh, and the good news? Paul and I are now properly and officially engaged! We're going to get married in the autumn, here in France at the mairie; date yet to be fixed...

Eze - heavy on the photos, sorry about that...

We finally got around to going to Eze today - we didn't go into the gardens, we'll save those for a sunnier, warmer day.

But, Eze is pretty! I think St Paul de Vence was prettier, but Eze is nice. Some photos follow - better photos to follow when the sun is out, though there may be more tourists. There were more than a few today, and it's not exactly peak tourist season!

Anyway:

Scenery photos of Monaco

Just because I liked them, and so you can see them too. Plus I haven't posted any photos just of summeriness for a while. (Yes, it's a word. I said so. It's my blog.)

Wise men of Nice

On the tram on the way back to the hotel tonight, I saw many drunk and sweaty French people (and tourists). On leaving the tram, finally, I saw the below and actually had my camera with me - they are giant statues of men, white during the daylight, but lit up with ever-changing coloured lights at night time, stuck up on v tall pedestals in the main square in Nice - I love them!
