Lemon Festival - Part 1: the sculptures

Today, dear readers, is the Festival du Citron in Menton. The 77th edition, I believe, and this year's theme is "cinema". For those of you who, like me, have managed to live so far in blissful ignorance of the Festival du Citron, Menton is famous for its citrus fruit and so, every year, tonnes and tonnes of lemons and oranges are collected and made into sculptures. And there's a huge parade.

It's awesome.

Photos of the sculptures follow in this post, because there's nothing much more to say. The sculptures are huge, and you sort of forget after a while that all of the yellow and orange bits are actually individual fruit stuck together. But it's worth reminding yourself of, as you look at the below. Next post will have photos from the parade.
