TAD - Day 10: silver wirewrapped ring with pearl

Today's Thing is a new thing for me. I don't make many rings, but I'm clearly in a ring mood (you'll be able to see the next one when the clay dries and is fired - I'm liking silver clay!) But today's ring is made from wire and a teeny 3mm white pearl. It's adjustable, within reason, so it doesn't matter that I don't have a ring mandrel yet...

What do you reckon?

These earrings use faceted rose quartz beads, silver plated wire and some silver-coloured findings I was given as a freebie by one of my Etsy suppliers. They're long, but I do like these shape earwires!

TAD - Day 2: A circus bracelet

This is one in a series of bracelets I make - so you will likely see others, particularly over the next few days, since they're quick and easy to make. Antibiotics are, though, making a difference already, so hopefully the Evil Illness will be gone soon!

Blue and green glass beads are wrapped in silver-plated wire and the bracelet is finished with a handmade toggle clasp in the same wire. (Tutorial for the clasp can be found at http://popnicute.etsy.com, if you're interested; that's where I got it from, anyway!)

Thing-A-Day 2010 - the beginning

February has started. Unfortunately, February has started with me being sicker than a very sick thing, so the Things I make may not be up to my usually impeccable (!) standards.

Today's thing is an unfortunately badly wrapped pair of earrings - it's serving as a prototype for pieces I may work up for sale later. I've also run out of wire, which is why I didn't redo them properly - it's not (just) because I'm lazy. Or ill.

Also attached is a photograph, taken from my balcony today. In the hopes that it may distract you from the bad workmanship in the earrings. Also, photos count as a creative Thing, in my book, so I'm submitting two amateur Things, in the hopes that it makes up one good Thing.

Posterous and cross posting...

I think not. It's slow to load pictures, isn't it? Or is that just me? And would it bore the 2 or 3 of you who ever read this to see the new things I make every day in February? (For that is, indeed, the point of Thing-A-Day as the name cunningly suggests...) Unless there's a keen desire to see it, in which case I'll keep the link, my inclination is to kill it and post manually every now and then.
